From a very young age Gráinne honed her running, jumping and skipping skills which transferred themselves to athletics in teenage years and became a general love of sport, health and fitness throughout her life. She first qualified as a fitness instructor and personal trainer in 1994, her career took a little bit of a detour into the wonderful world of advertising production. After taking stock and updating her fitness qualifications in 2013 with an EQF Level 4 certification in fitness instruction and personal training from the National Training College, she subsequently added to her skills with an advanced diploma in Pilates matwork also from NTC.
Her passion for Pilates developed when she discovered not only a challenging exercise system, but one which could provide injury prevention, aid with rehabilitation and offer so many practical benefits to us in our everyday lives. More recently Gráinne studied with globally recognised BASI (Body Arts & Science Institution) school of Pilates, qualifying as a BASI mat teacher in August 2017.
Gráinne started attending yoga classes to rehabilitate a tag rugby injury in the early 2000s. The physical and mental benefits soon became apparent and her appreciation deepened. Following years of yoga classes, workshops and retreats, the desire to learn more eventually lead her to a 200 hour yoga teacher training with Samyak Yoga in Mysore, India in 2017. An unforgettable and deeply rewarding experience.
“I feel very lucky to have these different disciplines in my life, along with morning meditation along with morning meditation they keep me healthy and sane and I feel so lucky that I get to share them everyday with my clients”.
