Nire Valley Lakes Loop Guided Hike, SATURDAY APRIL 18TH.

Spring is just around the corner and what better way to celebrate longer, warmer and dryer days than getting out into nature with a guided hike of the Nire Valley Lakes. We will be lead by well known and uber experienced local guide Mario MacRory of Muddy Boots Guided Walks. The hike will take around 4 hours and will take in the two glacial lakes of the Nire Valley, Coumduala and Squilogues. Mario will not just be leading the way, but also sharing his knowledge of the fascinating history as well as the wonderful native flora and fauna of this stunning area.

The distance is 8km, it is graded moderate, with a height gain of 300m. We will be stopping for lunch under the highest waterfall in the Comeragh Mountains. The views along the way are spectacular and the pace will be easy with plenty of opportunities to stop and take in the Nire Valley in all it’s glory.
